WASP Indoor Success!

12 Jan 2022 by rowena mills

December 17th Indoor Season Finals resulted in a hat trick for WASPs with a clean sweep of all 3 finals played on the night!

First the U15 girls played in a very tight match against the favourites and undefeated team from Melville. The girls came out with their game faces on and took it to Melville dominating the possession in the first quarter. Melville countered the attack in the next 2 quarters and the score was drawn 2-2 at the start of the 4th quarter. The WASP girls scored with 2 minutes to go and held on to win the game 3-2.

WASPs were the favourite for the U15 boys game, having won all 6 of their pool games. The boys didn’t disappoint with a 6-1 win over Vic Park (Orange). The game was tight, despite the score line with WASPs converting their opportunities in front of goal.

WASPs were also favourite for the U8 boys and as per the 11/12A outdoor season came up against YMCC in the final. It was a physical game with lots of talent and skill on both sides on display – WASPs won 8-2

A big congratulations to all our indoor players and to Adam Arnold who coached both the U15 girls and boys teams. 3 from 3 was a wonderful way to cap off the 2021 season!! Some pictures of the teams with the pennants attached.

Some of our WASP players also trialled for the State Teams during December with Hockey WA releasing the U13 and U15 squads late last week.

Congratulations to:
U13B Levi McGrath, U13G Milani McColl and Heidi Slatter
U15B Lachlan Arnold, Benjamin Harrison, Harper Kearnan, Zed Kearnan, Lennox McGrath, and Brandon Mudd
U15G Holly Greenway, Maddison Hill, Hannah Hudston
