The 2021 junior success for WASPs keeps on rolling with 3 of our indoor teams making it into the Grand Final matches that will be held this Friday 17th December at Lumen Christie College.

5,30pm U15 girls v Melville
6.30pm U15 boys v Vic Park
7.30pm U18 boys v YMCC

Our U15 girls have done a fantastic job to make the GF match with half the team trying out indoor for the first time this season! They have been improving week on week but go into the match as underdogs with the only other game played against this Melville team resulting in a 5-1 loss.

Our U15 boys and U18 boys both go into the GF as favourites both very deserving of their GF spots being undefeated throughout the season and both with 2 previous wins against their GF opposition. U15 boys v Vic Park is always an intense match with several close school mates going head to head. While our U18 boys sees a repeat scenario of our 11/12A boys winter season GF against strong opponents YMCC. Both matches are set to be great battles to the end.

For teams competing on Friday, it would be great to arrive early or stay late to support your fellow WASP teams. And of course all our WASPies are welcome to journey out to attend and cheer on our junior teams! The players would love to see yellow out in force and what better excuse to miss a work Xmas party! Please note its full BYO for food and drinks as there is no bar out there.

Finally, a special thank you to Susan Grieve who works tirelessly behind the scenes to organise all our junior indoor teams! This season has been the most successful to date and is demonstration of her efforts to build our WASP indoor junior teams over several seasons.

And of course to all the players and coaches in these indoor teams, a big congratulations for making the Grand Finals and best of luck for your best game of the season, and hopefully a championship win!! GO WASPs
